North Side Marching Legends 2022 Campaign

Dear North Side Marching Band Alumni and Friends of the Program,

Our music program could not do what it does to improve children’s lives without the support of a caring community!

We have kept our band fees minimal at $140. We have the lowest band fees in the state. Even though we keep our fees so low, nearly 50% of our students still can’t pay their fees because of the socio-economic climate of our school.

While the band fees are important, it is not nearly enough to cover the various expenses of the season. Expenses such as the music arrangements, copyrights, instrument repairs, staff payments, drill design, costumes, flags, feeding the students on competition days, contest entry fees, ISSMA fees, choreography, props, and other miscellaneous expenses along the way. While we continue to be prudent with our resources and execute many fundraisers like the carwash, cookie dough sale, and chicken sale, these efforts to raise funds are still well short of the season’s operational budget.

This is why we are asking for your support! Please consider making a meaningful investment in our student’s success and the North Side Marching Band program! If you are unable to give, please consider sharing this opportunity to help young people with your family, friends, and employer.

Individual and corporate donations are welcome! If received by January 1, 2023 your donation will be recognized throughout the school year at the following levels:

Legends Level = $2,500

Director Level = $1,000

Assistant Director Level = $750

Drum Major Level = $500

Section Leader Level = $250

Friend of the Program Level = $100

Your donation will go directly to North Side High School, a member of Fort Wayne Community Schools, which is a governmental instrumentality and will be considered tax-deductible to the donor under section 170(c) of the Code.

Our fundraiser is organized by North Side Marching Band and Elizabeth Sherman, our school treasurer. All funds donated are deposited directly to the school band account.

Community Performance: October 22, 2022

We would like to thank you, the North Side community, for all of your support this year. To show our appreciation, we will be giving a free performance in full uniform, with all the props and scenery, right here in our home stadium. The community performance will be this coming Saturday, October 22 at 4:00, and is open to the public. It is a great chance to see how hard these students have been working this season. This event is absolutely free, and donations will be accepted for those who would like to help with the continued success of our program.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
